Purity Ring is a synth-pop duo from Edmonton, Canada. It was formed in 2010 and it consists of Megan James and Corin Roddick. Their debut album "Shrines" was released on April, 2012 and all I can say is that it’s AMAZING. I was listening to this cover they did called "Grammy" (the original song is by Soulja Boy I think) and I thought of them so I’m posting one of my favorites: "Lofticries". -Iz

The Chevin - Champion (Official Video) from The Chevin on Vimeo.

The Chevin is an English post-punk revival band hailing from Leeds. Formed in 2010, the band is composed of four childhood friends who derived their name from The Chevin, a ridge overlooking their hometown of Otley, West Yorkshire. Since 2010, these guys have toured with huge acts, such as Franz Ferdinand, White Lies and The Airborne Toxic Event. Their first single (featured in this post) from their debut album Borderland has been featured on FIFA 13’ soundtrack, iTunes “Single of the Week” and The Huffington Post’s Top 52 Songs of 2012.

With so much success in such little time, there’s no doubt that these guys will transform into a powerhouse. If you like bands with a twang of The Killers, a dash of Coldplay and a hint of Franz Ferdinand – then you’re going to love this band. Check them out! – KJ

Phantogram I feel as though I’ve featured this band before (and I probably have since they’re one of my favorites), but I feel obliged to further showcase their music.

Phantogram is a duo formed in 2007 in upstate New York. They described their sound as “street beat, psych pop.” According to Josh Carter (vocals, guitar), their music has a “lots of rhythms, swirling guitars, spacey keyboards, echoes, and airy vocals.” Actually, that perfectly describes their sound. The arrangement of their unique tunes are paired together with Sarah Barthel’s (vocals, keyboards) hypnotizing voice, creating music that you can’t help but to move to.

Check them out. I hope you like them as much as I do! If so, go see them live… they’re fantastic. - KJ
